HiloBeads Jewelry - Earrings

Hand-crafted in Hilo, Hawaii, some with Hawaii grown Job's Tears

The Job's Tears used in my jewelry grew on the Big Island of Hawai'i in the Hilo area without chemicals and natural in color. I don't buy these but grow, pick and sort them myself. I currently have Job's Tears in brown, light color (almost white), dark striped, light striped and light with dark ends (I call these "siamese cat beads"). Earring hooks are hypo-allergenic surgical steel unless mentioned otherwise, headpins are silver or gold colored and almost completely covered with beads. In addition to Job's Tears and seed beads I use semi-precious gemstones, lampwork beads made by people I know on-line or in person, Austrian and Czech crystals, other glass beads in different sizes, shells, fresh water pearls, and some sea glass.

Currently available:

Hoop earrings:

Somebody at work asked me to make hoop earrings and I thought about that for a while and made some hoppe earrings out of memory wire. Unlike the hoop earrings made out of memory wire you may have seen elsewhere, these aren't hanging from other earring hooks but the hoop is the earring. The gold plated memory wire isn't as good in the adherence of the plating as the silver plated memory wire is, so on the gold plated ones there is some flaking on the ends (but the ends are normally behind your ears).

Irregular amethyst 'dog teeth' (or chunky briolettes) and violet AB2X Swarovski 4mm bicones on gold plated memory wire. $ 12.- Black onyx rondelles and turquoise AB2X 4mm Swarovski bicones on gold plated memory wire. $ 12.- Red jasper stick beads on gold plated memory wire. sold (on Etsy)
